Crosland Greens

Crosland Greens, a 36-acre mixed-use, transit-oriented redevelopment at South Boulevard and Scaleybark south of Uptown Charlotte will offer a variety of housing options, retail and office space in a vibrant, sustainably designed community at the site of Crosland’s former headquarters. The pedestrian-friendly, urban village is envisioned to include a grocery store, distinctive retail and office uses and feature a civic building which includes a public library three times the size of the existing library on site and will be surrounded by meaningful public green space. Single-family homes, townhomes and loft- and garden-style apartment homes nestled among mature trees and lush community gardens. Some of the lofts and apartment homes will be built atop the retail buildings.

Adjacent to the Scaleybark Station on the South Corridor Light Rail line – a major stop on Charlotte’s light rail transit system, the community offers residents and patrons alike the ability to commute to and from Uptown Charlotte within minutes without ever starting their own vehicle.

Beyond the close proximity to Uptown Charlotte and the variety of uses, the community also boasts distinctive sustainable design elements, which speaks to the Crosland Greens name. First, the existing site infrastructure will remain in tact so we can maximize saving of existing trees, minimize new paving of roads, and the restoration of a decrepit creek to its original glory. We also will be developing private streets which will allow us to implement alternative storm water treatment methods such as pervious paving options and bioswales (landscaped rain gardens to filter and slow down runoff). We also envision dedicating one of the many open spaces to be a community garden.
